Our Approach

Proactive Asset Protection Services was created to help real estate investors, property managers, developers, and syndicators implement contract management systems, risk management strategies, and operational best practices that strengthen their businesses and address potential vulnerabilities before they become costly disputes, insurance claims, lender issues, or other avoidable losses.

We support operators who lack the internal infrastructure commonly found within larger organizations. While institutional operators have access to in-house counsel, compliance departments, risk managers, and operational personnel, smaller organizations are frequently responsible for navigating these challenges on their own.

As a result, many investors devote substantial time and resources to costly and often impractical asset protection strategies while overlooking the operational practices that frequently provide the greatest protection and have the greatest impact on performance and profitability. Contract administration, vendor management, insurance requirements, due diligence procedures, documentation standards, and operational accountability are often treated as secondary considerations until a dispute, claim, lender issue, or loss occurs.

At Proactive Asset Protection Services, we believe effective asset protection extends far beyond entity structures and legal documents. Our approach is rooted in the belief that many of the most significant risks facing real estate operators originate from inadequate systems, poor documentation, inconsistent procedures, weak contract management practices, and overlooked operational controls.

Our philosophy is simple: proactive risk management begins long before a problem arises. Strong contracts, clear expectations, documented procedures, effective oversight, and disciplined operational practices help reduce risk, improve decision-making, and create more resilient businesses.

The objective is not simply to react to problems after they occur, but to help operators establish practical frameworks that identify vulnerabilities early, strengthen operations, and reduce the likelihood of disputes, claims, and losses. When issues do arise, well-designed systems, effective contract management, and appropriate risk-transfer mechanisms can facilitate more efficient claim resolution while helping ensure responsibility is allocated to the parties best positioned to control and manage the underlying risk.

About Our Expertise

Proactive Asset Protection Services founder Stuart Udis is an active real estate investor, developer, operator, licensed real estate broker, and attorney whose perspective on proactive asset protection, risk management, and operational best practices has been shaped by his own experience acquiring, developing, financing, and operating real estate assets. His experience spans single-family and multifamily investments, condominium development, mixed-use and commercial real estate, hospitality-integrated projects, property management oversight, construction management, entitlement and zoning matters, and complex capital structures involving both debt and equity financing.  He has also been a frequent lecturer on real estate investing, asset protection, risk management, and operational best practices, helping investors better understand the relationship between operational systems, contractual controls, and long-term real estate performance.

Our approach is rooted in the realities of real estate ownership and operations, emphasizing practical frameworks that reduce risk, strengthen operations, improve accountability, and help prevent costly disputes, claims, and losses. We believe effective asset protection extends far beyond legal structures and documents and is most often achieved through disciplined operational practices, thoughtful contract management, clear documentation standards, and proactive risk management.
